Ferrosilicon producers seek delay in anti-dumping case

NEW YORK - U.S. ferrosilicon producers have asked the U.S. Commerce Department's International Trade Administration (ITA) to extend by 135 days its final decision in a dumping investigation into ferrosilicon imports from Russia.

Russia was not assessed anti-dumping duties in the ITA's preliminary decision in the case (amm.com, March 5). The final determination is currently due May 20.

Russian producer RFA International LP was granted numerous extensions to its responses in the trade case, lawyers for domestic petitioners CC Metals & Alloys LLC, Amherst, N.Y., and Miami-based Globe Specialty Metals Inc. said in their request to the ITA.

"These extension requests have ... impeded the petitioners' ability to comment on RFA International's responses," the attorneys said.
