Rate spat could delay Felman restart 

NEW YORK - Felman Production LLC is preparing to sign a new contract with electricity supplier Appalachian Power Co. Inc. (APCo) on May 1, although objections to its successful rate request threaten to delay a restart of siliconranganese production at its New Haven, W.Va., plant.

Players wait on Felman 

Opinions surrounding the Public Service Commission of West Virginia were widespread with regard to its proposed electric deal with Felman Production. While a few market players speculated that prices would fall if Felman Production re-started its furnaces, one analyst pointed out that in recent years during times of production at Felman, silicomanganese prices were over 70 cents.

USW to hold "re-vote" on Felman SiMn plant agreement 

The United Steelworkers union has scheduled a "re-vote" April 17 on proposed changes to an existing labor agreement rejected last week by rank-and-file employees at Felman Production's idled 105,000 mt/year silicomanganese plant in New Haven, West Virginia, a union official said April 14.

USW local rejects Felman revised labor deal; effect on SiMn plant restart not known

The United Steelworkers union has rejected a modified labor contract with US silicomanganese producer Felman Production, but it was unclear on April 11 if the vote will affect the company's plans to restart its idled 105,000 mt/year plant in New Haven, West Virginia.
