FELMAN PRODUCTION REPORTS ON TEMPORARY SHUT DOWN OF ITS NEW HAVEN, W. VA. FACILITY 

 Facility shut down, effective immediately, due to furnace transformer failure; Repair time estimated at three weeks

NEW HAVEN, W. Va. (July 25, 2017) – Felman Production, LLC (“Felman”) today reported that it has temporarily shut down its New Haven, West Virginia facility after a transformer failure occurred at one of the Company’s two operational electric arc furnaces. Felman estimates it will remain shut for approximately the next three weeks as the necessary repairs are conducted.

EPA to reconsider ferroalloys emission regulations

New York - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking public comment on national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (Neshap) for ferroalloy production after two domestic producers claimed the most recent rule changes were too onerous.

ITC revokes duty vs. Australian silicomanganese

NEW YORK — Imports of silicomanganese from Australia do not injure the domestic industry, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has ruled, reversing a decision last month by the Commerce Department to impose duties.
