US awaits ferrosilicon direction

Market sources were quick to comment on speculation surrounding Globe Specialty Metals and CC Metals and Alloys' intentions to appeal the US International Trade Commission's decision with regard to antidumping duties on Russian ferrosilicon. It could be 30 days following the August 29th filing before any additional details are divulged and what the next steps could be. Sources suggested that the appeal could drag out for another year.

Appeal of zero dumping margin for Russian ferrosilicon surprises US market 

US ferroalloys market participants have expressed surprise at a decision by domestic ferrosilicon producers Globe Specialty Metals and CC Metals and Alloys to file an appeal challenging July's negative final dumping determination by the Department of Commerce on ferrosilicon imports from Russia.

USITC says ‘no’ to duties on ferrosilicon

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) announced this week a negative final determination of anti-dumping duties on Venezuelan ferrosilicon. The ITC reported that the US industry was neither materially injured nor was it threatened with material injury by Venezuelan imports. The announcement followed the Department of Commerce's 22.84% duty determination earlier this quarter.

No US Duties for Venezuela ferrosilicon

NEW YORK - Imports of ferrosilicon from Venezuela are not injuring or threatening to injure the U.S. industry, the International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled Aug. 26. As a result, no anti-dumping duties will be imposed.
